Roger Lee Cleary, Sr. Death – The Statesville community is mourning the loss of Roger Lee Cleary, Sr., who passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the age of 73, following a brief illness.
Known for his dedication to law enforcement and his love for his family, Roger’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Roger Lee Cleary, Sr Background
Roger Lee Cleary, Sr. was born on September 18, 1951, in Statesville, North Carolina, to the late Harvey Cleary and Isabelle Cleary Eastridge.
He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Fred Eastridge. Roger’s family meant everything to him, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to those closest to him.
Roger dedicated much of his life to law enforcement, serving the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office with pride and distinction. His commitment to protecting and serving his community was a hallmark of his career. After retiring, Roger continued to be respected by his peers and remembered for his service.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jean Evans Cleary, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories. He is also survived by his son, Roger Cleary, Jr., and his two cherished grandchildren, Hayden and Jaylen Cleary, who brought him immense pride and joy. Additionally, Roger is survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will continue to hold him in their hearts.
Celebration of Life
At this time, no services are scheduled; however, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Roger’s memory. His family and friends will gather to reflect on the life he led, his unwavering dedication to his family and community, and the countless memories he leaves behind.
