San Mateo Murder-Suicide Death – Anand Sujith Henry Death: An Indian/American family has been found dead in a murder-suicide Monday. A father, his wife, and two sons were located dead in San Mateo, California on Monday morning. The husband and wife have been locally identified as both of Indian origin. Anand Sujith Henry shot and killed his wife, Alice Priyanka Benziger, and their two sons at their home at 4100 Alameda de Las Pulgas. Henry passed away from suicide.
What Happened To San Mateo Family Found Dead?
On Monday morning, two adults and two young children from San Mateo were discovered deceased in a residence located in the 4100 block of Alameda de las Pulgas after the request of authorities to perform a welfare check at the place. “This call is tragic and horrifying.” Nobody normally receives calls requiring a response this way; therefore, this is not a typical contact for anyone.
“It is tragic for the family, the community, the officers, and all those involved,” said Officer Jerami Surratt, a spokesperson for the San Mateo police department. All three died at the home.
During a press briefing on Monday afternoon, Surratt stated that officers responded to a call placed at 9:13 a.m. on Monday by a person requesting a welfare check on the four individuals after becoming concerned that they had not heard from them in some time. Officers arrived at the residence and searched for indications of a forced entry. When officers entered the residence, they observed the victims exhibiting “obvious signs of death.”
Surratt could not provide additional details regarding the nature of those indicators or the condition of the residence due to the ongoing investigation. He further declined to specify the cause of death, but stated that authorities regard the fatalities as isolated incidents and are not actively seeking a suspect.
Surratt could not furnish any further details regarding the four individuals, except specifying that the two young juveniles are male. Furthermore, he refrained from disclosing whether the four deceased were related or how the individual who initially lodged the welfare check was connected to them. The only indication they could identify, according to him, was that all four were unconscious.
Surratt stated that detectives from the San Mateo Police Department were dispatched to the residence to continue their investigation, adding that the process is proceeding slowly due to the detectives’ intention to be exhaustive. He added that the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office were both present at the site to assist in the identification of the four deceased. Responding hazmat teams were not dispatched, according to Surratt.
He stated that an autopsy would be performed on Tuesday morning. The public is advised to refrain from entering the area while law enforcement officers continue their investigation. Following the investigations, a section of Alameda de las Pulgas between 42nd and 39th avenues was closed. Entrances and exits of residences in the confined area close to the incident site are accompanied by escorts.
