Shawnee National Forest; Austin Davidson Anna, IL, has died, loved ones mourns

The Ozark-St. Francis National Forest’s Austin Davidson, the Integrated Resources Crew Supervisor, passed away.

An important turning point in Austin’s forestry career occurred during his employment as a Forestry Technician with the Shawnee National Forest team from June 2016 to February 2019.

During his tenure with the Shawnee team, he played a key role in the construction of a mile-long route, an undertaking that showcased his commitment and proficiency.

Furthermore, Austin actively participated in the upkeep of wilderness routes in several sites within the Shawnee National Forest, demonstrating his dedication to the preservation and accessibility of these natural settings.

Austin’s commitment to protecting the environment was evident throughout his career. He finished his studies at Southeast Missouri State University in May 2017, having laid the foundation for his future goals there.

His career goals were to work for a federal agency or a nonprofit group as a land management or wildlife biologist. Austin’s commitment to these goals demonstrated his deep interest in wildlife and land management, and he worked hard to make a big impact in both fields.

The forestry community has suffered a great loss with his departure, and he will always be remembered for his unrelenting dedication to his work and his contributions to environmental stewardship.
