Sheena Fitzgerald Car Accident: A multi-vehicle collision on Route 28 resulted in the death of one individual.
A Dodge Challenger was attempting to pass a Ford F-350 on Route 28 soon after 7 a.m., according to a press release from Pennsylvania State Police.
The Dodge Challenger was driving southbound at a fast speed. Sheena Fitzgerald, the driver of the Challenger, collided with the F-350’s bumper before losing control of the car, veering off to the left, and entering the center median.
Fitzgerald then crossed the median, struck a railing in the northbound lane, and launched himself into the air, crashing into the front windshield and bonnet of a Dodge Dart driven by a different person. After after, a fourth driver in a Hyundai Kona heading north struck Fitzgerald’s vehicle.
State police said Fitzgerald was declared dead at the scene. Jonathan Sands, the Hyundai’s driver, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital after suffering severe injuries.
His condition was classified as stable last time. There were no injuries to the drivers of the F-350 or Dodge Dart. Just after 11:30 a.m., the scene was cleared by the crews.
The family will release Sheena Fitzgerald’s obituary and funeral arrangements.
