Skagit Valley College Shooting Investiagtion: Man injured, campus placed on lockdown
Skagit Valley College went into lockdown Monday afternoon when a nearby shooting left a man injured, according to Mount Vernon police.
The drive-by shooting took place around 12:42 p.m. in the 3000 block of East College Way, just east of the campus, a news release states. The gunfire injured a 41-year-old man, who was taken to Skagit Valley Hospital.
Mount Vernon Police Lt. Dave Shackleton said there was no active shooter on the campus. The campus lockdown was lifted around 1:37 p.m., according to the school’s website.
