Storm Wolf Temecula CA Obituary – A deadly series of events unfolded in Menifee early Saturday morning, resulting in the deaths of a woman and the suspect in her murder.
At approximately 2:43 a.m., officers from the Menifee Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the 25000 block of Mesa Edge Court.
Upon arrival, they found the body of 38-year-old Storm Wolf of Temecula inside a silver pickup truck. She had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Detectives determined that Wolf had been the victim of a homicide.
Authorities quickly identified 45-year-old Jose Velasquez, a Menifee resident and acquaintance of Wolf, as the primary suspect. Velasquez fled the scene before officers arrived, prompting a manhunt that led investigators to believe he had traveled to Santa Ana.
The Santa Ana Police Department was contacted for assistance, and officers located Velasquez in his vehicle. When they attempted to arrest him, Velasquez led authorities on a vehicle pursuit that ended in Newport Beach. There, an officer-involved shooting occurred, and Velasquez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the police shooting remain under investigation. Officials have not disclosed whether Velasquez was armed or posed an immediate threat at the time of the confrontation. Additionally, authorities have not yet determined a motive for the homicide.
The Menifee Police Department continues to investigate both Wolf’s murder and the events leading up to Velasquez’s death. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Flores at Wflores@menifeepolice.org or (951) 723-1663.
