Tuscaloosa Sridge Suicide – An investigation is underway after a man seemingly jumped to his death Friday morning from a Tuscaloosa bridge.
Tuscaloosa police and firefighters were dispatched at 8 a.m. to the scene on the Lurleen Wallace Bridge. First responders arrived to find the victim dead on the ground below the bridge.
Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Jack Kennedy said the investigation is in its early stages but said there was no sign of foul play. Reports says Jack Warner Parkway between Greensboro Avenue and Nick’s Kids Avenue were closed earlier this morning as first responders investigated.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit has assumed command of the investigation. Kennedy said the investigation will be worked at the same standard as all investigations handled by the Violent Crimes Unit.
There is nothing about the man’s death that appears criminal, Kennedy said, and no other information will be released.
