Suicide; Marcelo Villar died after jumping from Hypoluxo Rd overpass on Sept. 3 – Funeral Plans

Marcelo Villar Suicide Death – The Florida Highway Patrol reported that all southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike in western Lake Worth was reopened following a fatal collision on Tuesday.

According to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, the accident occurred at mile marker 91, which is five miles north of the Boynton Beach Boulevard exit, at approximately 5:45 a.m.

The FHP has reported that a 17-year-old youth jumped from the Hypoluxo Road overpass into the southbound lanes of the Turnpike. He was subsequently struck by a box truck driven by a 29-year-old man.

According to a Fire Rescue official, the teen was declared deceased at the site after being struck by the box truck and landing on the hood. No one else sustained any injuries.

He was identified as Marcelo Villar of Lake Worth, Florida. The Turnpike’s southbound lanes were closed for an extended period of time, but they were reopened shortly before 10:30 a.m.
