Summer Lynn Kansas City MO Death – The teenager who was hit in front of Children’s Mercy Park has passed away as a result of her injuries according to police.
The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department announced on Thursday, Aug. 29, that the teenager struck near Children’s Mercy Park on Tuesday evening has passed away as a result of her injuries. She has been identified as Summer Lynn, 17, of Kansas City, Mo.
First responders said that around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, they were called to the intersection of Village Parkway West and France Family Dr., in front of Children’s Mercy Park, with reports of a collision. When they arrived, they found Lynn had attempted to walk across the street but was hit by a northbound vehicle.
Police noted that the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and was cooperative. Meanwhile, Lynn was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. She was later pronounced deceased by medical professionals.
The collision happened during the weather-delayed start of a U.S. Open Cup Match at Children’s Mercy Park.
