Susan Blackmore Farmingdale NY Missing, FDNY Lt. James widow last on Dec. 4

Susan Blackmore, a 68-year-old resident of Farmingdale, NY, and widow of FDNY Lt. James Blackmore, has been reported missing since the afternoon of December 4, 2024.

Susan, who suffers from dementia and may appear disoriented, was last seen heading to a gym in Farmingdale at approximately 12:30 PM. Her white Subaru, with New York license plate KKM9254, was later tracked through technology and surveillance.

Authorities discovered that her vehicle was pinged on East 36th Street in Manhattan late on the night of her disappearance. On the morning of December 5, a card reader captured her vehicle crossing the George Washington Bridge westbound toward New Jersey.

Notably, facial recognition systems did not capture her image as she crossed the bridge, adding a layer of uncertainty to her current whereabouts.

Susan is a line-of-duty widow, as her late husband, Lt. James Blackmore of FDNY Engine 332, tragically died serving his community. Her disappearance has triggered a wide-reaching search effort involving law enforcement, family, friends, and the broader community.

Given her dementia diagnosis, there is heightened concern about her safety, particularly since she may not be fully aware of her surroundings or able to seek help on her own.

Susan’s case has drawn significant attention on social media, with posts urging the public to share any sightings or information that might assist in locating her. Family and supporters have asked for widespread dissemination of her details, emphasizing her potential confusion due to dementia. They hope increased public awareness will aid law enforcement in finding her quickly and safely.

Authorities and the family urge anyone with information or who may have seen Susan or her vehicle to contact the police immediately. Time is critical in such cases, and even seemingly minor details could play a crucial role in locating her. The community’s support is also requested to keep an eye out for her white Subaru and any other signs of her presence.

As a longtime resident of the area, Susan has been a beloved member of her community, further amplifying the local efforts to find her. The hope remains strong that Susan will be found safe and sound.
