Tom Curran, a local Fox-13 News reporter in Tampa Bay, Florida, reportedly passed away on Thursday. He was announced dead in a social media publication that reads:

“The End of a Local Era: Tom Curran, News Anchor, died today, October 3,2024, from complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was a long time morning news anchor for Fox 13 in Tampa. Rest In Peace.” He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.”

Tom Curran cause of death
His right index finger twitched at first, so subtly that his wife had to call attention to it while they were driving. After some months, Tom received a startling diagnosis. Parkinson’s disease, a degenerative neurological condition characterized by tremors and muscle weakness, was what afflicted him.

However, Curran, 54, has spent 14 years working as a news anchor for Tampa’s Fox affiliate. Upon receiving emails from people enquiring about his well-being, he realized he had to reply in some way.

He spent more than five years as a patient at the USF Parkinson’s Centre. He discovered a diverse team at USF who collaborated with him to determine and optimize an effective treatment plan.

It has made it easier for him to stick to his rigorous work schedule, which calls for getting up many hours before he anchors the weekday morning news at five in the morning.

Who was Tom Curran?
Curran, a 1994 immigrant from California to Toronto, Canada, was a lifelong hockey fan and an amateur referee who still officiates games. As a devoted Christian, he is still torn about the stem cell research that is being promoted as a potential path to a cure, but he is also open to the concept of speaking out about Parkinson’s in order to raise money and awareness. In addition, he keeps a very upbeat demeanor, even when answering a challenging issue with a dark humour. His stepson Cody, wife Christina, and former coworkers at WTVT all adored and loved him.
