Trevor Rusk Kansas Death: Arkansas City Firefighter/EMT died while off-duty, ACFD mourns

Trevor Rusk Kansas Death – The Arkansas City Fire and EMS Department is mourning the loss of one of its own.

The department announced the death of Trevor Rusk late Saturday afternoon calling him “a beloved firefighter who dedicated his life to serving and protecting our community.”

The department said Rusk joined the department on June 5, 2023, and quickly became a “respected and beloved colleague, embodying our profession’s spirit of service.” Fire Chief Stuart Cassaboom expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Rusk.

“Trevor was not only a dedicated firefighter but also a friend to many. His courage, professionalism, and selflessness will never be forgotten. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and fellow firefighters during this difficult time.”

City Manager Randy Frazer also shared his condolences:
“Trevor Rusk was an exemplary firefighter whose contributions to the safety of our community were invaluable. His loss is deeply felt not only within the department but across the entire city. We are mourning alongside his family, friends, and colleagues, and we will ensure that his legacy of service is honored in the days to come.”

While no cause of death was given, the Kansas EMS Association said Rusk was off duty when he died.
