Trevor Zuehlke Britton SD Death:- Britton-Hecla high school football player Trevor Zuehlke, who sustained a brain injury in 2019, passed away.

On August 8, 2024, a Thursday, his death was declared. At Sioux Falls, South Dakota’s Avera McKennan Hospital, Trevor Zuehlke of Britton, South Dakota, departed from this life. His age was twenty-one.

Kurt Zuehlke, Trevor’s father, stated, “We write this with very sorrowful hearts. Trevor endured many hardships and conflicts for almost five years before his soul departed this morning and entered heaven.

After experiencing some strange symptoms for a few days, Trevor had a severe seizure early yesterday morning and needed to be airlifted to Sioux Falls. He had a large family and circle of devoted friends around him. In an early 2019 game, Zuehlke suffered an injury.

“This battle was his last, and he is now at peace with all of his loved ones in paradise. We are grateful for all of the love and support that Trevor and I have received throughout the years. Knowing that he is no longer going through trials and sufferings and can finally experience freedom in Heaven, we are at such peace,” the post said.

Britton-Hecla did not have a quarterback on the field during the opening drive of the 2019 Class 9A state championship game in Brookings. Canistota and Freeman were called for a delay of game penalty, but they declined to accept it.

In 2021, KELOLAND News covered the event when the family’s nonprofit Pass It On #ForTrevor distributed footballs at the Britton-Hecla youth football camp. Through Pass It On, scholarships have also been awarded.

Trevor Zuehlke obituary will be released at a later date.
