Waukee Drowning: Water rescue search for missing man in pond on Grand Prairie Parkway near the Holmes Murphy in Waulee, IL

Waukee Drowning: In Waukee, a water rescue is in progress this Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., word of the water rescue was received in the 2500 block of Grand Prairie Parkway, close to the UnityPoint Waukee Medical Park and the Holmes Murphy business building.

According to reports, rescue workers have been in the water and a boat has been put out to sea. The individual who was last seen in the water is the subject of a search, according to the Waukee Fire Department.

According to officials, two children lost their rods while fishing in the pond. The children fled to seek assistance as the dad began to struggle in the water while attempting to recover the pole.

According to Waukee FD, items found on the beach appear to suggest the man is still in the water. A local identified the man involved as a resident of the neighborhood.

Central Iowa Police & Fire Monitoring: Waukee, 27xx Grand Prairie, ongoing incident, crews were called to the pond near this location on a water emergency about an hour and a half ago, crews remain on the scene of what is believed to be a recovery operation.
