Who was William Moylan?
After joining the Ulster Police Department in 2002, Detective William Bill Moylan started his police career in 2001 with the Rosendale Police Department. Detective Moylan began his career with the Ulster Police Department as a uniformed officer. He later rose through the ranks to become a Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, and EVOC Instructor before being promoted to Detective in 2016.
Bill was a big, kind, funny, and wise man who was beautiful on the inside and out. He had the most beautiful smile and a kind heart, and his personality was so lively that it lit up a room. He left his mark everywhere he went. He inspired people to live their truth and have a purpose in life. Bill will forever be remembered for his hard work ethic, for being an amazing husband and the best father in the entire universe.

It with heavy hearts that the Ulster Police Department announces the untimely passing of Retired Detective William Moylan after his battle with cancer. Detective Moylan began his police career with the Rosendale Police Department in 2001, coming to the Ulster Police Department in 2002.
While at the Ulster Police Department, Detective Moylan spent the beginning of his career as a uniformed officer, becoming a Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, EVOC Instructor and eventually being promoted to Detective in 2016. Detective Moylan will be remembered for his commitment and dedication to his community.
