Willie Mays Baseball Death, Legendary Hall of Fame center fielder has passed away at 93

Willie Mays Death – Hall of Fame center fielder Willie Mays has passed away, it has been announced. Mays was 93.

The Say Hey Kid has an argument for being the best player ever. His 156.2 bWAR is fifth all time. He played for the Birmingham Black Barons as a 17 year old, then broke in with the New York Giants in 1951 at age 20.

He missed much of 1952 and 1953 for military service. Starting in 1954, he had a stretch of 13 years where he led the National League in bWAR 10 times, the majors 7 times, one of the all time dominant stretches in MLB history.

Mays led the league in homers four times, stolen bases four times, triples three times, and OPS five times. Somehow, he only won the N.L. MVP award twice, but on that aforementioned 13 year stretch he finished in the top 6 twelve times. He was an All Star in 20 different seasons and won 12 Gold Gloves.

His 660 career home runs are sixth all time. His 3293 hits are 13th all time. His 6080 total bases are fourth all time. He’s ninth all time in games played, seventh in runs scored, and 12th in RBIs. Baseball has lost a legend today.

Feel free to leave a message of condolences and prayers for the family and friends of the deceased in the comments section as it will go a long way for them during this difficult time.
