Zach Beck Death – Ogemaw Heights High School student Zach Beck of West Branch, Michigan has sadly passed away. He died on Thursday 20th June 2024 at the age of 16.
The circumstances surrounding the actual cause of Zach Beck’s death has not been released. He was born on December 4, 2007, in West Branch to Mark Beck and Kendra (Whisman) Beck.
From an early age, it was evident that Zach possessed a kind-hearted nature and an unwavering love for his family. His passion for serving his community and his genuine concern for others became defining aspects of his character.

Growing up, Zach harbored dreams as vast as the skies above West Branch. He aspired to become a volunteer firefighter, inspired by the selfless courage exhibited by those in the profession.
This dream was not just a fleeting childhood fancy but a testament to his deep-seated desire to help others and make a tangible difference in his community.
In addition to his firefighting aspirations, Zach was committed to continuing the legacy of his family’s farm business at Gallagher Dairy Farm. The farm, nestled in the heart of West Branch, was more than just a business to Zach; it was a symbol of heritage, hard work, and familial bonds.
Despite his young age, he approached his responsibilities on the farm with a level of determination and diligence that was truly remarkable. His compassion and dedication were evident in everything he did, whether it was caring for the animals, assisting with daily chores, or simply lending a helping hand wherever needed. Zach attended Ogemaw Heights High School, where he found a particular joy in shop class.

Zach will be deeply missed by his parents Mark and Kendra Beck; sister Alexandrea (Trenton) Moore; brother Cole (Sydney Lademan) Beck; grandmother Roberta Beck; grandparents Larry and Marsha Whisman; nieces and nephews Ellianne, Scotti, and Reid; uncles and aunts, Kevin (Jaimie) Whisman, Kimberly Kummler, Kara (Joseph) Neuman, very special loving aunt Kristy Whisman, Karla (James) Mattson, Chad (Lori) Beck, Grace (Loren) Caverly, Laurie (Jennifer Strochine) Beck, and Katie (Joe) Weber; as well as cousins, extended family members, the staff at OHHS who meant so much to him, and neighbors who became like family to Zachary.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather Richard Beck and cousin Reid Jones. Visitation services for Zach will take place at the Ogemaw County Fairgrounds, 2300 Rifle River Trail, West Branch, MI 48661 on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. Pastor Steve Decker will officiate.
