Death: Tavia Pew, Kayy Lashay & Kaneisha Lewis killed in March 30th crash in Lake County, FL

LAKE COUNTY, FL – A devastating early morning crash on State Road 19 claimed the lives of Tavia Pew, Kayy Lashay, and Kaneisha Lewis, leaving a community in mourning.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has confirmed that the accident occurred early Sunday morning near Saint Florian Lane, when a 2024 Jeep Cherokee lost control, resulting in a deadly rollover crash.

Authorities say the vehicle, driven by a 30-year-old woman from Mount Dora, was heading northbound on State Road 19 when it approached a left-hand curve. However, instead of making the turn, the driver failed to control the vehicle, causing it to veer off the roadway. The SUV then collided with a pole before flipping over multiple times, ultimately coming to a devastating stop.

Upon arrival, first responders found two victims deceased at the scene, including the driver. Two other passengers were rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where one later succumbed to injuries, raising the death toll to three. A 26-year-old woman from Eustis, the sole survivor, remains in critical condition as medical staff fight to save her life.

The loss of Tavia Pew, Kayy Lashay, and Kaneisha Lewis has left family, friends, and the community heartbroken. Those who knew them describe them as vibrant, kind, and full of life, leaving behind cherished memories and loved ones struggling to process the tragedy.

Local residents have expressed their sorrow over the accident, with many calling for improved road safety measures in the area.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. While speed, weather conditions, or driver impairment have not been officially confirmed as factors, authorities will conduct a thorough analysis to determine what may have led to the fatal accident.

State Road 19 is known for its winding curves and limited visibility, which can make navigating the roadway challenging, particularly at high speeds. This tragic accident serves as a reminder of the importance of cautious driving, especially during nighttime and early morning hours.

As the community mourns, friends and family have taken to social media to express their grief, sharing heartfelt messages and memories of Tavia, Kayy, and Kaneisha.

A vigil and memorial service are expected to be organized in the coming days, offering loved ones an opportunity to come together in remembrance and support.

This heartbreaking accident underscores the fragility of life and the devastating impact of traffic collisions. As authorities continue their investigation, the focus remains on supporting the victims’ families and ensuring that similar tragedies can be prevented in the future.
