According to his grandmother Mary Nixon, his caring nature was unparalleled, always prioritizing the well-being of others above his own. “He was incredibly sweet, kind, and always put others first,” Mary fondly recalls. “We could talk about him for hours.”
As a proud member of the Aggie community, Logan embraced Texas A&M’s rich traditions and vibrant atmosphere. He harbored a deep passion for environmental preservation and found his calling in urban planning and design. Mary vividly remembers the moment when Logan’s career path became clear to him. “He called me one afternoon, brimming with excitement,” Mary reminisces. “He said, ‘There’s this major—urban planning and design. I think it’s perfect for me.’”
Logan’s connection to nature was profound, particularly after a transformative summer working in Rocky Mountain National Park. Inspired by the majestic landscapes he encountered, he became determined to contribute to their preservation through sustainable planning. “Following that summer, he was completely sold,” Mary shares. “He knew he could help conserve the breathtaking landscapes he loved so dearly.”
Living in Boerne, Logan remained deeply rooted in his community. He actively participated in his church and cherished his high school experiences, particularly in the theatre program. Mary reflects on Logan’s close relationship with his former English teacher, Mr. Paul Yoder, whom he frequently met for coffee and heartfelt conversations about life.
“In college, Logan continued to foster connections with those around him, both through his studies and his involvement with Fellowship Church in Bryan,” Mary adds. Logan’s mother, Sara Jette, emphasizes his innate kindness and selflessness, which left an enduring impact on everyone he encountered. Sara recalls receiving countless messages from individuals whose lives were touched by Logan’s compassion and support during challenging times.
“Logan’s kindness and selflessness defined him,” Sara affirms. Logan’s family fondly remembers his countless acts of kindness, from helping with household chores to offering comfort to those in need. Mary recounts how he would rush to open doors for others and effortlessly lend a helping hand without hesitation.
In addition to his acts of service, Logan had a passion for reading, hiking, and spending time with animals. He shared a special bond with his father and older brother through their mutual love for target shooting, and his sharp sense of humor brought laughter to those around him. “He adored the Flag Room,” Mary recalls. “He would call me sometimes, just to say, ‘Guess where I am?’ with the sound of piano music in the background.” In September, Logan proudly earned his Aggie Ring, a symbol of his unwavering dedication to Texas A&M’s cherished traditions. Mary reflects on the joy Logan found in sharing his love for the university with others, particularly during visits with his grandfather, who he would regale with tales of campus landmarks and traditions.
