7-Eleven Shooting: Justin Murphy of Sun Valley ID, killed in Fatal incident on Saturday
The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim of Saturday’s fatal shooting as 39-year-old Justin Murphy of Sun Valley.
The shooting happened Saturday around 1:50 p.m. at the 7-Eleven on Gentry Way and South Virginia Street according to a press release from the Reno Police Department.
Officers arrived at the scene to find Murphy with a gunshot wound.
REMSA provided on scene medical attention and took the him to the hospital where he later died from his injuries despite emergency medical treatment.
Detectives with RPD’s Robbery/Homicide Division have taken over the investigation.
Reno Police said there does not appear to be a specific threat to the public as the shooting appears to be an isolated incident between two people.

Reno Police are investigating a shooting in south Reno.
It happened Saturday afternoon at the 7 Eleven at the intersection of Gentry Way and South Virginia Street.
One person was taken to the hospital according to a Reno Police spokesperson.

Gentry Way is closed in both directions west of South Virginia Street according to our crew on scene.
