Colleen Lischwe Death – Colleen Lischwe, a cherished graduate assistant coach for the Bearcats Water Polo team has sadly passed away.
Her untimely passing is a profound loss for her family, friends, and the entire water polo community.
Colleen was a remarkable individual whose dedication to the sport of water polo, her athletes, and her community left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Colleen’s love for water polo began during her early years and blossomed into a lifelong passion. She graduated from Kirkwood High School in 2007, where she served as the varsity captain of her co-ed team during her senior season.
Her exceptional leadership, talent, and commitment earned her recognition as the Missouri Female Water Polo Player of the Year for three consecutive years, from 2005 to 2007. She was further honored with All-Conference and All-State accolades in 2007, solidifying her reputation as a standout athlete.
Following her stellar high school career, Colleen attended Marist College, where she competed in NCAA Division I water polo. During her time with the Red Foxes, she was named an Academic All-American in 2008, a testament to her dedication both in the pool and in the classroom.
Under her influence, the Marist team achieved remarkable success, competing in the NCAA National Championships twice and securing eighth place in 2008 and seventh place in 2009.
Colleen’s transition from player to coach showcased her ability to inspire and nurture others. As a graduate assistant coach for the Bearcats Water Polo team, she was admired for her strategic expertise, deep understanding of the game, and unwavering commitment to the development of her athletes.
