Death; Colin Monahan Freehold Township, NJ, Colonials wresting coach has died

Colin Monahan “The Leprechaun” of Freehold Township, New Jersey, who was a 2015 graduate and wrestler at Freehold Boro has sadly died.

At this time, the Freehold Boro Wrestling team is in mourning over the passing of one of their own, Colin Monahan, who graduated in 2015. At the time of this writing his cause of death was not disclosed by his family, neither has there been any formal information regarding his funeral arrangements and obituary.

On August 12, 1996, Colin Monahan was born into our world. Pat and Suzann Monahan were his parents, and he was their son. Amanda, who was 22 years old, was his only sibling. In addition to being a UC Ambassador, he was a student majoring in Business and Economics.

Colin was a skilled wrestler who left his imprint on the Colonials record books. He was a prominent member of the Colonials. Over the course of his senior year, Colin was the fifth wrestler from Freehold Boro to amass a total of one hundred victories. He also won the District Championship.

After completing his studies at Ursinus College, Colin would go back to his hometown of Freehold Boro to serve as the coach of the Colonials. After completing his education, he began working at the schools in Freehold Township. Subsequently, he became an assistant coach at Boro High School, where he worked for several seasons under the direction of Coach Shep.

After being given the responsibility of leading practices on a regular basis, Colin had a significant role in Freehold Boro’s achievement of their first division championship in the history of the school in 2022. Additionally, in 2022, he was selected as the District Coach of the Year as a result of his accomplishments.

“The Leprechaun” was a coach and a teammate who was adored by the members of the team. He was known for his constant presence in the wrestling room, which was filled with ferocity and enthusiasm.

Finished the season with a record of 10-6, including a third-place finish in the Will Abele Invitational at the sixteenth spot. His first victory of his professional wrestling career came at the Fall Brawl, where he defeated a wrestler from Camden County College thanks to a technical fall that occurred at the seven-minute mark of the match.

During his senior year at Freehold Boro High School, where he also accumulated a career record of 100-41 and served as team captain three times, he was declared the winner of the District 21 Championship. Additionally, during his junior year, he finished in third place at the District 21 Championship contest.

He felt as though Ursinus was his second home. Both the teaching staff and the students are really friendly, and the athletics are great.
