Death: Crawford Bryant Columbia IL Car Accident, Monroe County teen died in Sunday crash

Crawford Bryant Columbia IL Car Accident – Columbia High School student, Crawford Bryant has passed away. Hilltoppers Swim Club in a statement that says:

“Our hearts are broken as we have lost a Gator family member. We are asking that the Gator family please attend the candlelight vigil in honor of Crawford on Monday, September 2nd at 7:30 pm.

The community is meeting at the Columbia pool parking lot and will walk to the Bryant’s home on Main Street. Crawford was an energetic and beautiful young man with a bright future ahead of him. We will be wearing our Gator shirts in his honor.”

What happened to Crawford Bryant?
About 3 p.m. on Sunday, emergency services were sent to the 4100 block of Hanover Road, which is located just west of Route 3 north of Waterloo, for a single-vehicle rollover incident involving many injuries.

The crash claimed the life of a local teen. After arriving on the scene, an ARCH Air Medical Services chopper flew one patient to a hospital in St. Louis to receive treatment for severe injuries.

As part of their investigation, police closed Hanover Road as they reconstructed the accident. It reopened just after 7:00 p.m. According to a Facebook post, Immaculate Conception Church in Columbia hosted a prayer vigil on Sunday night in “support of the families of the young men involved” in the collision.

Monroe County Crash
Four teenagers were in the car when it crashed, according to the MCSD, with one of them dying and the other critically injured on Monday morning. In a press release issued on Monday afternoon, the Illinois State Police said that early findings suggest that a Waterloo Police Department officer saw a car speeding along Route 3. The car was found on Hanover Road shortly after that, engaged in a single-vehicle collision.

The Monroe County Coroner’s Office declared one individual dead at the scene, according to ISP. While two other young people were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, one of the occupants was airlifted there with potentially fatal injuries.
