Everett Carter BLUE SUMMIT, MO Death – Tragedy struck Jackson County on Sunday as 61-year-old Everett Carter, a dedicated Public Works employee with four decades of service, lost his life while clearing snow during the recent winter storm.
According to authorities, the accident occurred along Ashland Avenue when Carter’s truck slid on an icy road.
The vehicle struck him before colliding with a parked car. Despite immediate emergency response efforts, Carter succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
“This is a heartbreaking loss for our entire Jackson County family,” said County Executive Frank White Jr. in a statement. “Everett Carter’s unwavering dedication and professionalism over 40 years of service will never be forgotten.”
In the wake of the incident, Jackson County temporarily paused all snow removal operations to provide support to grieving staff members.
