Fort Wayne Homicide: Myaunna Chacole Foster-Juarez, 17-year-old teenager died on Winter Street after shooting

Fort Wayne Homicide – The Fort Wayne Police Department announced that a 17-year-old girl was shot last week on the southeast side of the city and died as a result.

Myaunna Chacole Foster-Juarez was named as the victim by the Allen County Coroner on Friday. The coroner’s office verified that the inquiry is still ongoing after her death was declared a homicide.

Around 10:30 p.m. on August 15, Fort Wayne Police launched an investigation in the 2900 block of Winter Street. The teenager had a gunshot wound when officers arrived on the scene. She was brought to the hospital when her condition was deemed life-threatening, and there she passed away.

She died, the coroner concluded, from a gunshot wound to the head. There has been no release of information regarding a suspect or the circumstances surrounding the incident.

To obtain any information that could be available, investigators spoke with witnesses who were in the vicinity at the time of the incident.
