Rhea LaRoche Westminster MA, Elderly woman dies after crash with train in Royalton, VT
A Massachusetts woman has died after her car was hit by a freight train in Royalton early Wednesday morning.
The Royalton Police Department said the crash happened at the Action Place crossing just after 3 a.m.
They said a 92-year-old driver, identified as Rhea LaRoche, of Westminster, Mass., succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials currently do not know why LaRoche was in the area at the time of her death. An investigation is ongoing.
Multiple departments, including The Royalton Police Department, South Royalton Fire Department and South Royalton Rescue Squad, responded to help process the scene.
