Taryn Rose St. Louis, MO, mother & daughter injured in car accident on Aug. 14 – GoFundMe

Taryn Rose of St. Louis, Missouri, was engaged in a car accident with her mother, Barb, and daughter, Gracie.

The crash happened on Wednesday, August 14, when their car was hit by another vehicle that was doing above 80 miles per hour, according to sources. All three of the people involved in the accident required hospitalization due to serious injuries they sustained.

Gracie has severe, permanent injuries, according to a GoFundMe page by Angie McBride. She suffered a fracture to her neck, paralyzing her from the jawline down.

She also has kidney failure, fluid in her lungs, and a shattered pelvis, which prevents her from breathing on her own and means she will need a ventilator for the rest of her life. She will never be able to communicate on her own again as a result. She is also unable to feed herself and will require a feeding tube for the remainder of her life.

She has a long road ahead of her in terms of medical needs. She will require constant watchful care. We expect her to be in the hospital for at least two months, after which she will need to move to another facility in order to receive more therapies and treatments.

Barb is still in the hospital and is expected to be there for a while. She had surgery for a fractured hip and a fracture of the C-6 and C-7 vertebrae (her spine was fused from C-5 to C-7), as is already known. She is completely paralyzed from the chest down due to injury to her spinal cord. In addition, she has a sternum fracture and a clavicle fracture.

She is currently being intubated until her sternum heals. She is unable to cough up secretions from her lungs or clear them out, which explains why. She can only control her arms to a limited extent right now. Her road to recovery will probably take a while, and she will need extensive rehabilitation.

Taryn has also sustained injuries from the incident. Her injuries from the collision included a fractured rib, stitches above her eye, fluid on her heart, edema around her kidneys, and a spinal process fracture. She was set free after that and is still recovering. She hasn’t abandoned her daughter and is only making an effort to keep a cheerful outlook for her family.

GoFundMe page for Taryn Rose
Angie McBride is organizing a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Taryn Rose. Although Taryn dislikes asking for help, the situation they find themselves in right now is unthinkable. At her current job, she will have about three weeks of accrued vacation time left before she is out of a job.

Her daughter is in need of her right now. Barb won’t be able to work in any capacity. They will all have to comply with medical criteria for years to come. Barb might never be able to go back to work, and Gracie will need ongoing care and severe medical treatment, including surgery. Taryn will need to have her home modified to make room for a wheelchair, and she will also need a car that can fit one. There is an infinite list.

Any assistance that could lessen the family’s financial strain would be very valued. All proceeds will go directly to them to help with their rehabilitation, life adjustments, and any other support that they may require.
